As a Guangzhou native, my generation actually never formally studied Cantonese romanization (Jyutping) or standard orthoepy. We just picked it up by mimicking everyone around us. Sometimes people with a Hong Kong accent claim our pronunciation sounds “off,” but to be honest, I often feel HK Cantonese sounds quite vintage. Many expressions are things I’d only use when chatting with the elderly—some terms aren’t used in Guangzhou anymore, and younger locals wouldn’t even recognize those older sayings.

- PR (Pull Request): Submitting a request to merge code changes into another branch or repository.
- WIP (Work In Progress): If you’re tackling a massive change, you can submit an incomplete draft marked WIP so maintainers stay in the loop.
- PTAL (Please Take A Look): Asking maintainers or teammates for a code review.
- TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Skipped reading because the content was too long.
- LGTM (Looks Good To Me): Standard code review approval, meaning everything looks good.
- SGTM (Sounds Good To Me): Same sentiment as LGTM.
